Artisanal double distillation in traditional, rustic, steel-pot-stills produces a flavourful distillate
TEAK WOOD AGED
Tropically aged in the local ‘Jati’ (Indonesian teak wood) barrels for 12—24 months
SUGAR CANE
Molasses is extracted from Javanese sugarcane (saccharum robustum), an ‘heirloom’ strain of cane indigenous to Java.
LOCAL WATER
Forest filtered water is added to the molasses and rice to begin a slow fermentation process
Artfully Blended
Our pot still Indonesian rum is blended with carefully selected aged column-still rum.
OUR STORY
Created by four friends who share a passion for great spirits, good times and Indonesia’s island life, Nusa Caña is a uniquely blended Tropical Island Rum, and a project to bring back the forgotten story of an ancient Indonesian craft still alive today.
BORN OF ANCIENT DAYS
Indonesian rum, or Batavia Arrack, was first produced by Dutch settlers in Java in the 1600s and became the most popular, crafted, exotic and sought after quality sugar cane spirit of the 17th-19th centuries.
Found in the best bars and drinking occasions across Europe and America, selling at twice the price of Cognac and Caribbean rum, Indonesian rum’s international popularity earned it the titles ‘the world’s first international luxury spirit’ and ‘Godfather to the rum world’.

TROPICAL ISLAND RUM
Nusa Cana Tropical Island Rum is a versatile blended rum with an Indonesian heart. Nusa Caña is a rich and vibrant sugarcane spirit that stays true to the traditions of Indonesian rum.
Unique fermentation of molasses and rice, rustic pot distillation & teak wood aging create a powerful and vibrant tasting rum. We then blend our pot still Indonesian heart with carefully selected aged column-still rum, offering a hint of familiarity whilst letting the funky flavours of Indonesian rum shine.

TASTING NOTES
Aroma: Vibrant cane juice, banana, coconut and spice.
Taste: Fresh cane and young coconut. White and black pepper spice. Mature dry wood, vanilla and toasted banana leaf.
Finish: An astoundingly smooth finish with structure, body and lingering cane.

Taking its name from Batavia arrack’s reputation as the ‘godfather to the rum world’, Nusa Caña Godfather is a an unadulterated, high-strength, fine blend of 100% pot stilled Batavia Arrack, uniquely fermented, distilled and aged in the tropical growing regions of Western and Central Java, Indonesia.
Crafted for spirit and rum lovers, collectors and enthusiasts.
Production: Central & Western highlands, Java, Indonesia.
Fermentation: 72h. Javanese sugarcane molasses. Red rice.
Distillation: Artisanal double distillation. Steel pot stills.
Aging: Tropically aged. 24 months. Teak wood barrels.
